When each company landed in the trackerMethodology
This tracker only includes layoffs where the company explicitly cited AI as the reason for workforce reduction — either through official statements, SEC filings, earnings calls, or on-the-record executive quotes.
- Only verified, publicly reported cases are included
- Stock impact is measured 30 days post-announcement
- Revenue figures are from the most recent quarterly report at time of layoff
- "AI-replaced" means the company stated AI/automation is handling those roles
- Sources link to the original reporting
How it stays current: A Claude Code agent runs daily at 9pm IST, searches news for newly announced AI-cited layoffs, extracts the full schema from primary sources (Bloomberg, Reuters, CNBC, WSJ, TechCrunch, FT), and opens a pull request on GitHub. Every entry is human-reviewed before it goes live — the agent proposes, a human merges.
